The station is therefore the most convenient railhead for the Collectorate, District Court, Ghurni and other destinations in Krishnanagar.

Nadia has several other important railway stations. Ranaghat Junction is a major suburban interchange for the southern part of the district, while Nabadwip Dham is useful for Nabadwip and some pilgrimage journeys. Regular buses connect Krishnanagar with Kolkata and towns across Nadia. Road travel is especially important for Mayapur, Palashi, Ballal Dhipi and several river-side or rural attractions. The district also has ferry connections across the Bhagirathi and other rivers at selected points, which remain useful for local travel.
